NEW staffs employed to monitor implementation of the Big Results Now (BRN) Programme have been challenged to do away with the tendency of working in business as usual model.
The call was issued yesterday in Dar es Salaam by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the President's Delivery Bureau (PDB) which oversees the BRN Programme, Mr. Peniel Lyimo during the opening of the First Annual Strategic BRN Staff Retreat in Dar es Salaam.
The meeting which will include presentations on the one year of implementing the transformation Programme from the PDB CEO, Mr. Omari Issa and case studies on project implementation from Malaysia will also expose the champions to best ways to oversee the BRN.
"BRN has introduced its own way of doing things. Much as we have to abide by the laws and regulation, we also need to introduce a system of working the business unusual way," said Mr. Lyimo insisting, that is the best way to deliver.
He highlighted that one of the challenges in the one year of BRN implementation was the business as usual mind-set to some of the public servants. "This is why we are meeting today to reflect upon how best we, as champions of that change, ought to behave. The changes begins with us," stressed Mr. Lyimo.
PDB was established in July, 2013 to oversee the BRN Programme that seeks to transform the delivery of government projects in the selected National Key Results Areas. The six primary sector under BRN area agriculture, education, transport, energy, water and resources mobilization.
A new sector on strengthening business environment has also been included in the BRN Programme while plans are under way to include health sector.
